The run-in of diesel generator set can be divided into cold run-in and hot run-in:

1. Cold run-in

Cold run-in refers to the diesel engine on the test bench by the motor or other power to drive the crankshaft to run, to achieve the purpose of running in the crankshaft connecting rod mechanism, valve mechanism and other dynamic mating parts. In this process, you need to use small viscosity oil, and you can also do a fault check on the diesel engine to see if there is abnormal sound, cylinder and gas leakage.

2. Hot run-in

Thermal run-in refers to the assembly of the diesel generator set, and after a detailed inspection, the generator set started up, through no load and load test, further check and adjust the generator, so that it has good power and economy. In this process, attention should be paid to checking the assembly of machine parts and whether the clearance between mating parts is appropriate, whether the engine is running evenly, whether there is special sound of piston, piston pin, crankshaft main bearing and connecting rod bearing, etc.
