Basic requirements for maintenance and upkeep of diesel generators

（1） Routine maintenance of diesel generator sets

1. Check the water level and oil level once a day;

2. Clean the external surface of the unit and the environment of the computer room once a day.

（2） Monthly maintenance of diesel generator sets:

1. Clean the outer surface of the unit;

2. Check if the speed control lever is flexible and lubricate the connection points;

3. Replace the cooling water, measure the pH value before and after replacement (normal value is 7.5-9), and keep a measurement record. If necessary, add medication (notify the water treatment worker to cooperate);

4. Check the tension of the fan belt and charger belt, and adjust if necessary;

5. Cooperate with the emergency power generation test for electrical work, check whether the readings of various instruments, temperature, and loudness are normal during the operation of the diesel engine, and keep operation records.

（3） Quarterly maintenance of diesel generator sets:

1. Check the air flow resistance indicator and clean the air filter when it shows red;

2. Release diesel water and clean the first stage diesel filter;

3. It is necessary to pay attention to lubricating the fan pulley and belt tensioner bearings;

4. Check the lubricating oil level of the overspeed mechanical protection device, and add oil if it is insufficient;

5. Check the tightness of the main external connecting bolts.

（4） Annual maintenance of diesel generator set:

1. Cooperate with electricians to carry out parallel load operation and check the operation status;

2. Cooperate with electricians to simulate and test the performance of various safety protection devices;

3. Measure and inspect the axis, open the gear, and keep records;

4. Remove the inspection cover and observe the condition of the shaft and cylinder;

5. Spray and clean the cooling system (notify the water treatment worker to cooperate);

6. Check the quality of the engine oil and replace it if necessary;

7. Clean the second stage diesel filter;

8. Clean the engine oil filter;

9. Add the following items after every 500 hours of operation:

A. Replace the second stage diesel filter element;

B. Change the engine oil;

C. Check the tightness of the cylinder head bolts and connecting rod bolts;

D. Check and correct the valve clearance, fuel injection timing, and keep records;

E. Fuel injector pressure testing and calibration.
