On March 13, 2021 at 21:42, the emergency diesel generator unit B of Unit 6 of the "Hualong 1" demonstration project, Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, operated stably on a rated speed platform of 600 rpm. After joint inspection by the Fuqing Project Debugging Department, Engineering Management Department, Second and Third Company, and Shaanxi Diesel Manufacturers, it was confirmed that all parameters of the diesel engine were normal, marking the first successful start of the last emergency diesel generator unit of the Hualong 1 demonstration project, which was contracted by China National Nuclear Engineering Corporation!

The emergency diesel generators for Units 5 and 6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant are supplied as a complete set by Shaanxi Diesel Engine Heavy Industry Group, which is a large-scale domestically produced system and equipment for demonstration projects. As one of the prerequisites for the hot test of Unit 6, the 6DB special task is significant and the construction period is urgent. The on-site team has established a "three person group" with Liu Peng (debugging), Wu Hansheng (engineering management), and Shao Dewei (2-3) as the main coordinators. The "three person group" organizes daily meetings, establishes an efficient coordination WeChat group for the leadership, and organizes all units to strictly implement the civil construction, installation, commissioning, and operation experience foundation of Unit 5 and 6DA in Fuqing. A series of changes are implemented in advance, and optimization is carried out in construction processes, commissioning intervention inspections, and other aspects. Through the full process tracking and coordination of the Equipment Complete Set Center, items such as AVR regulators, valves, and other "bottleneck" items have arrived at the required time on site, enabling the system to have the conditions for debugging intervention. The debugging and testing team has been fully involved since mid January 2021, carrying out the 6EMQ09/10/13 test, and will try to parallel the debugging period as much as possible in the main operations of oil flushing and pipeline restoration. On March 7th, 6DB began its first fuel injection and conducted a test run of three fuel pumps. After five days of intensive testing, leak detection, and defect elimination, the fuel circuit of the diesel generator set was finally able to operate smoothly, opening up the "last mile" before the initial start.

In order to effectively implement the on-site research instructions of the leaders of the group company and effectively improve their political stance, the special team has comprehensively and deeply carried out party history learning and education, inspiring beliefs and drawing on historical experience in learning and education, transforming them into concrete actions to overcome difficulties, and promoting the comprehensive construction of the "Hualong No.1" demonstration project in a safe and efficient manner according to the plan. At the same time, before the initial opening, the owner's engineering management department and the East China Supervision Station have been specially invited to inspect and guide, and problems have been rectified in a timely manner.

On the morning of March 13th, the initial pre construction meeting was held on time. After nearly six hours of system online, inspection, and execution of operation tickets, the diesel engine officially began its start-up test. According to the regulations, it is necessary to start the diesel engine only mode, maintaining the speed platforms at 300 rpm and 600 rpm respectively. Then, start the live mode on these two speed platforms and check that the diesel unit is running normally. After the first startup, the commissioning team will conduct a series of commissioning tests such as single row fast start, no-load excitation, diode phase failure, false synchronization and true synchronization grid connection, steady state operation and performance acceptance. Only when all tests are qualified can 6EMQ officially meet the available conditions.
