Clean the thermostat and place it in a cup of water. At this point, it is important to note that you should not put the thermostat in the bottom of the cup, put a thermometer in the cup, gradually increase the temperature. Use a thermometer to measure the temperature of water when the valve is open and the temperature when the thermostat is fully open. Good thermostat, valve at 68~72℃ start to open; In 80~83℃ should be fully opened, and the height of the main valve should not be lower than the specified value. If it does not meet the above requirements, it indicates that the thermostat is invalid. Find out the cause and replace or repair it.

The initial opening temperature of the main valve of the thermostat used by the generator set and the full opening temperature are specified when leaving the factory, although the value is not exactly equal, but generally it is about the same. If the specified temperature number of the main valve of the thermostat is not found, the value of the fully open temperature can be determined according to the initial opening temperature at the time of measurement. For example, the initial opening temperature of the main valve of a thermostat is 65.5℃, then the full opening temperature should be 82.5℃. Because chongqing diesel generator set main valve fully open and initial open temperature only difference is generally 13~17℃. If the opening temperature of the main valve of each thermostat exceeds or is lower than the specified value of 17℃, the thermostat is damaged and should be replaced with a new one.

The gasket of the thermostat of the generator set should be replaced with a new one if it is damaged. If the collapsible expansion cylinder of thermostat is broken or corroded, it should be replaced.
