Factors affecting fuel consumption of diesel generator set

During the use of diesel generator sets, many users encountered the problem of increased fuel consumption, but no problems were found in the inspection of diesel generator sets, and no specific reasons were found in the maintenance. What factors affect the fuel consumption of diesel generator sets?

Oil generally enters the combustion chamber through the clearance between piston ring and ring groove and the clearance between valve and guide tube. The direct reason for its channeling in is that the first piston ring threw the lubricating oil attached to it into the combustion chamber near the top dead center because of its sharp drop in movement speed. Therefore, the fit clearance between piston ring and piston, oil scraping capacity and oil scraping capacity of piston ring, pressure and oil viscosity in combustion chamber are closely related to oil consumption. If you find that the fuel consumption is large, you can generally know the problem and quickly solve the problem by performing the following inspections.

1. Check whether the sealing gaskets at the connections between the diesel engine body and the gear chamber cover, the large plate on the side of the traveling wheel, the rear cover, the cover and the like are intact, and whether the screws at the connections are loose. If there is oil leakage at the frame position, the oil housing should be inspected, mainly the front end of the oil housing on the same side as the traveling wheel. Generally, the loose base screws cause the traveling wheel to collide with the frame angle iron protecting the oil housing for a long time under the pull of the triangle belt to form a gap, causing oil leakage.

2. The wear of diesel engine valve guide leads to additional oil loss of the unit.

3. The engine wear causes the cylinder liner of the diesel engine to form longitudinal pull marks, and the cylinder diameter and piston side clearance exceed the specified value, which leads to the corresponding reduction of the supporting force of the piston ring, resulting in dirty oil scraping. Or because the internal support torsion spring in the oil ring is broken, the oil scraper is not clean and involved in combustion, which makes it difficult to start the diesel engine, the exhaust pipe emits blue smoke, and the breather injects serious oil, resulting in additional oil consumption.
