First, choose clean soft water, soft water usually rain, snow and river water, etc., these water contain less minerals, suitable for the use of engine unit. The mineral content in well water, spring water and tap water is high, and these minerals are easy to deposit on the radiator wall and water jacket and channel wall and form scale and rust, so that the cooling capacity of the unit becomes poor, easy to lead to overheating of the unit engine. The added water must be clean, the water contains impurities will block the channel, aggravate the wear of pump impeller and other parts. If hard water is used, it must be softened beforehand, usually by heating and adding lye (often caustic soda).

Two, "boiling", to prevent burns, radiator unit "boiling", do not blindly open the water tank cover, in order to prevent burns. The correct approach is: first idle idle for a while and then put out the generator, waiting for the temperature of the electric unit to reduce, water tank pressure drops after unscrewing the radiator cover. When unscrewing, use a towel or wiping cloth to cover the box to prevent hot water and steam from spraying on the face and body. Do not put your head on the water tank to look down, unscrew it and quickly remove your hands. When there is no heat or steam, take off the water tank cover to prevent scalding.

Three, on the water temperature should not be immediately, before set off, if the engine temperature is very high, do not immediately stop water, unload should make its idle running, stay again when water temperature dropped to 40-50 ℃ water, to prevent contact with the water of the cylinder block, cylinder head, water jacket outside surface temperature due to sudden water plummeted, a sharp contraction, and the temperature inside the cylinder block is very high, narrow, It is easy to crack cylinder block and cylinder head due to large temperature difference between inside and outside.

Four, do not start after adding water, some users in winter in order to facilitate the start, or because of the water is far, often take the method of starting after adding water, this method is very harmful. Diesel generator set dry starting, because there is no cooling water in the body, the unit engine parts rapidly heating up, especially the cylinder head and diesel engine injector outside the water jacket temperature is particularly high, if the cooling water is added at this time, the cylinder head and water jacket is easy to crack or deformation due to sudden cooling. When the engine temperature is too high, the engine load should be unloaded before idling at low speed, and then cooling water should be added when the water temperature is normal.

Five, winter heating water, cold winter, diesel generator set is difficult to start, if before starting filling cold water is easy to add water in the process of adding water or add water did not start in time, in the water tank sewer and inlet pipe prone to freeze, resulting in water can not circulate, even the radiator crack. Adding hot water, on the one hand, can improve the temperature of the unit to facilitate starting; On the other hand, the freezing phenomenon mentioned above can be avoided as far as possible.

Six, regular change of cooling water in water, do not advocate frequently, because of cooling water in over a period of time after use, minerals have precipitation, unless the water is very dirty, may stop line and radiator, don't easily replaced, because even if the new change of cooling water softening treatment, but also contains a certain minerals, these minerals can deposit on the place such as water jacket and form scale, The more frequently the water is replaced, the more minerals are precipitated, and the thicker the scale is. Therefore, the cooling water should be replaced regularly according to the actual situation. The cooling pipeline should be cleaned when the replacement, and the cleaning liquid can be prepared by caustic soda, kerosene and water.
