Precautions and requirements for the use of generator sets

Diesel generator is a small power generation equipment that refers to a power machinery that uses diesel as fuel and diesel engine as the prime mover to drive the generator to generate electricity. The entire unit is generally composed of diesel engine, generator, control box, fuel tank, starting and control battery, protection device, emergency cabinet and other components.

1. Open flames are strictly prohibited in the diesel engine room.

If there is any hot work in the diesel engine room, a hot work permit must be issued by relevant leaders, and all fire prevention measures must be taken.

When the unit is operating at full load, the lubricating oil temperature should be between 82-107 degrees. If the oil temperature suddenly rises and the cause is not a sudden increase in load, it may be a mechanical failure. The unit leader should be immediately reported and checked.

4. When the lubricating oil temperature is 60 degrees, continuous operation for a long time may cause acidification of the lubricating oil temperature in the crankcase, which will accelerate the wear of the machine.

5. The optimal range for cooling water temperature is between 71-90 degrees. The gaps formed by the relative expansion of various parts of the machine are beneficial for operating conditions. Otherwise, protection actions will be taken when the temperature exceeds 105 ± 5%.

6. Diesel generators should not be operated without load for a long time, as the temperature in the combustion chamber is very low during no-load operation. Pouring fuel into incomplete combustion can cause carbon deposits during combustion to block the oil nozzles and piston rings, as well as valve adhesion.

7. During the shutdown process, if a protective device is activated, the protection should be reset and the cause should be identified when restoring the standby state. The "shutdown" button should not be pressed during standby.

When the diesel generator cannot be started within 30 seconds, it should be stopped and wait for 1-2 minutes before restarting. It is allowed to start three times.

If the diesel generator set is shut down for a long time (not used as a backup, maintenance measures should be taken).

10. Every 250 hours of operation, replace the engine oil and oil filter core, fuel filter core, and all replaced filter elements must not be cleaned before continuing to use.
