Methods for cleaning parts

In the repair of diesel generator sets, it is often necessary to clean the surface of parts from oil stains, carbon deposits, scale, and rust. Due to the different properties of various pollutants, their removal methods also vary. So what are the methods for cleaning parts of generators?

1、 When the oil stains on the surface of the parts are thick, they should be scraped off first. The method for renting and cleaning parts of second-hand generators generally involves cleaning the surface of the parts with oil stains. Commonly used cleaning liquids include alkaline cleaning solution and synthetic detergent. When using alkaline cleaning solution for hot cleaning, heat to 70-90 ℃, immerse the parts in 10-15 minutes, then remove and rinse with clean water, and then blow dry with compressed air.

2、 The simple mechanical shovel method can be used to remove carbon deposits. Simply use a metal brush or scraper to remove the carbon deposits, but this method is not easy to clean and can easily damage the surface of the parts. Using chemical methods to remove carbon deposits, that is, first use a carbon remover (chemical solution) to heat to 80-90 ℃, soften the carbon deposits on the parts, and then use a brush or other tool to remove them.

3、 The chemical removal method is generally used for cleaning generators to remove scale. The chemical solution used to remove scale is added to the coolant, and the coolant is replaced after a certain period of engine operation. The commonly used chemical solutions for removing scale include caustic soda solution or hydrochloric acid solution, sodium fluoride hydrochloric acid descaling agent, and phosphoric acid descaling agent. Phosphoric acid descaling agent is suitable for removing scale on aluminum alloy parts.
