How to shut down the Perkins generator set correctly?

1. Normal shutdown

1) Before the shutdown of the diesel generator set, unload the load, and then adjust the control handle of the governor, gradually reduce to about 750 RPM, and then move the stop handle to stop after 3-5 minutes of operation; Try not to stop the generator set at full load too soon. To prevent overheating and other accidents.

2) For the 12-cylinder V-type generator set, the electric key should be turned from the "left" to the "middle" position after shutdown to prevent the battery current from flowing backwards. When running in cold area and need to stop, should immediately open the side of the body, fresh water pump, oil cooler (or cooling water pipe) and radiator drain valve, drain cooling water to prevent freezing crack. If antifreeze coolant is used, there is no need to open the drain valve.

3) For the generator set that needs to be stored for a long time, the original oil should be released, replaced with sealing oil, and then run for about 2min for sealing. If antifreeze coolant is used, it should also be released.

2. In emergency or special circumstances, in order to avoid serious accidents of the generator set, emergency shutdown can be taken, and the emergency shutdown handle can be moved or the emergency shutdown button can be pressed.
