Will Cummins generator set use less and less coolant?

Diesel generator unit coolant consumption is large, it can be obvious that there are cooling droplets landing on the surface after stopping. The main reasons for the decrease in coolant use are as follows:

1. the radiator is leaking. The radiator may leak due to corrosion or other reasons after long time use.

2.  water pump gasket damage or sealing ring distortion, damage or loose. The screw works for a long time, so that the cylinder liner sealing ring is gradually worn, resulting in loose sealing and water leakage. When installing the sealing ring, the distortion will also cause water leakage.

3.  cylinder head, cylinder liner, body crack. Generator set water shortage or in the case of overheating suddenly add cold water, because of the temperature difference is too large, easy to cause the cylinder head, the body sharp cold contraction and rupture. After stopping in winter, the antifreeze is not released, and the cooling liquid in the radiator freezes and causes the body to break. Cylinder head nuts are not tightened in accordance with the specified order (or tightening force), some tight and some loose, causing deformation of the cylinder head, in the case of overheating, easy to crack.

4.  Cummins generator set rubber water pipe rupture or water pipe joint clamp is not tight, will also lead to water leakage.

5. The sealing ring at the lower part of the cylinder liner is not well sealed. Rubber seal water ring elasticity or hardening, poor assembly, rust, distortion and other reasons, will cause poor sealing and water leakage.

6. radiator upper and lower water chamber, core pipe rupture or welding, can also cause water leakage.
