1, with the multimeter voltage file detection, the multimeter knob to dc voltage 30V file, the red meter pen is connected to the generator armature column, the black meter pen is connected to the shell, so that the engine is running above the medium speed, the voltage standard value of THE 12V electrical system is about 14V, the voltage standard value of the 24V electrical system should be about 28V. If the voltage measured is the battery voltage, it indicates that the generator is not generating power.

2, when there is no ammeter on the dashboard of the car, the external DC ammeter can be used for detection. First remove the lead of the connecting column of the generator "armature", and then connect the positive pole of the DC ammeter with the measuring range of about 20A to the generator "armature", and connect the negative pole lead to the above removed connector. When the engine is running above medium speed, the ammeter has 3A~5A charging indication, indicating that the generator is working normally, otherwise the generator will not generate electricity.

3, when there is no multimeter and DC meter, the car bulb can be used to test the lamp. Weld a suitable length of wire to each end of the bulb and attach an alligator clip to each end. Before testing, remove the wire of the generator "armature" connecting column, and then clamp one end of the test lamp to the generator "armature" connecting column, and put iron on the other end. When the engine runs at medium speed, the test light indicates that the generator works normally, otherwise the generator will not generate electricity.

6. The stator winding or rotor winding of the generator is disconnected.

7. Loose connection of generator lead wire or poor switch contact.
