Analysis on the causes and countermeasures of supercharger overheating in diesel generator

Diesel supercharger overheating failure is the fundamental cause of the absorption of exhaust energy and cooling intensity imbalance, supercharger energy is too large, more than the cooling intensity, so that the temperature of the parts is too high and the formation of overheating. It is mainly caused by high energy of waste gas, poor cooling quality and improper operation and management.

First, supercharger overheating reasons

1) If the diesel generator is overloaded for a long time, it will cause incomplete fuel combustion and high exhaust temperature, which will correspondingly increase the local overheating of the turbocharger, resulting in dull noise and black smoke from the exhaust pipe.

2) Low oil pressure, on the one hand, it will cause insufficient lubrication of the turbocharger friction surface, accelerate wear, improve bearing clearance, greatly deteriorate lubrication; On the other hand, it not only leads to insufficient cooling of the turbocharger, the overspeed of the temperature rate rises, at the same time will also reduce the viscosity of the oil further deteriorated.

3) Oil deterioration, improper adjustment of cooling water temperature (should not exceed 93℃ range of full load) is also the cause of turbocharger overheating.

Two, diesel generator supercharger overheating measures customers should pay attention to the following problems when using diesel generator set, in order to avoid diesel engine turbocharger failure:

1. In strict accordance with the operating procedures and check the working state of the diesel engine accurately judge the working state (vibration noise, exhaust color, water leakage, etc.), to find the fault to provide clues.

2. Do maintenance work and follow the maintenance plan.

3. Grasp the characteristics of the fault, harm and the corresponding disposal means, in order to avoid serious accidents.

4. Troubleshooting in time, until the problem has been solved before starting the diesel engine to avoid further damage.
