Cummins diesel generator set and supporting system installation recommendations

One，computer room design

1. The unit should be arranged horizontally. When restricted by the building site, it can be arranged longitudinally.

2. When the machine room is adjacent to the control room, the generator outlet end and cable trench should be close to the distribution room.

3. The battery should be close to the starting motor side.

4. The equipment room should have sufficient fresh air inlet. Hot air and exhaust should be out of the outdoor, the air intake should be set on the motor side, the exhaust should be set on the water tank side.

5. The equipment room should adopt comprehensive measures of silencing of the unit and sound insulation of the equipment room.

Two, the installation of generator base

1. A reinforced concrete base shall be cast on the floor.

2. The concrete base shall pass the pressure test of more than 173KPa in one month.

3. The concrete base should be at least 150mm higher than the floor, the chassis of the extension unit should be at least 150mm on each side, the cement base should be embedded with "J" or "L" type anchor bolts.

4. Engine, shock absorber must be installed between engine and fuel tank.

5. The structure and strength of the tank must be able to withstand the static and dynamic loads of the unit.

6. There must be a certain distance between the bottom of the tank and the ground for easy maintenance.

Three, exhaust system installation

1. Use a hanger or bracket to support the exhaust pipe and the supercharger;

2. Bellows are strictly prohibited to act as elbows and compensate installation errors;

3. For units above 200kW, stainless steel bellows above 610mm are used;

4. Horizontally laid exhaust pipe with 0.3-0.5% slope, slope to outdoor, sewage valve at the lowest point;

5. When configuring engine exhaust pipes, do not use pipes whose diameter is smaller than the exhaust port.

6. If the exhaust pipe must be bent upward, the drainage plug should be set at the starting point of rising;

7. When installing more than one generator set, special attention should be paid to the common exhaust pipe.

Four,. Installation of cooling system

1. The air inlet should be set at the generator end or on both sides of the generator, and the area should be 2.2 times larger than the water tank area.

2. The air outlet area should be 1.5 times of the water tank area, and shutters and windshields should be installed in the air outlet.

3. The flexible air duct flange is connected with the water tank to absorb the displacement and vibration of the unit and prevent the transmission of noise.

4. Hot air must be discharged out of the equipment room through the air duct. The cross-sectional area of the air duct must transition smoothly from small to large

5. When the ambient temperature is higher than the design temperature, consider using power reduction.
